STOP

Sadly, the public isn’t allowed anywhere near the US Capitol. I hope that will change in time.

*****

We went down to the Capitol to see how things looked after the inauguration. A lot of the National Guard troops were gone, although some are staying for the impeachment trial, and the Capitol Police weren‘t so much in evidence on the street. Some of the roadblocks were gone, but the fences have stayed, perhaps even more fortified than before.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly
unsharp.

The January 6 folks are not patriots. This is not the country I have grown up in.

I imagine it will be some time yet. But what a striking and timely shot, your documentation of all of this is important. V

A very nice STOP capture I think this will be the situation for a while every time they hear a tweet that is not right the military will stay of if gone brought back, nice straight on shot of the capital.

Great capture, of a sign of the times, I'm sure it will change when all the trials are done, and over course of the current administration.

You’re providing excellent photos to give us a feel for what your city is undergoing at this difficult time.

This makes me so sad. It was such an exciting thing to take my young family there and sit in the gallery and watch democracy in action.
Great work, Helen.

Very nice use of emphasizing the Barricade reading "Stop." Well done shot.
