Beyond the police barricade

The distance was a bit too far for my 24-70mm lens (and I wasn’t allowed beyond the police blockade), so the picture is greatly cropped and not terribly sharp, but these are Capitol Police and National Guardsmen at the new fence surrounding the US Capitol.

*****

We went down to the US Capitol, or at least as close as we could get, to see what things looked like. I'd have to say it was an almost surreal way to spend a Sunday afternoon -- photographing the many Capitol Police, National Guardsmen, Metropolitan Police, military trucks, police cruiser roadblocks and high fences that now populate our beautiful city. I'm hoping that we can all come together as a country and put a quick end to this kind of thing because this is no way to live.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly
unsharp.

These remind me of images from Northern Ireland during 'The Troubles' - would never have expected to see them in America.

These shots are a valuable documentary of these current times in DC. V

Unbelievable. Must be some sort of conspiracy theory, even though it's right in front of our eyes. I am looking for a Pbaser abroad to let me move in.
