Fractured Country

Where do we go from here?
When over 70 million people believe the lies of a con man.
When trump supporters are marching with people who are wearing tee shirts proclaiming 6 million wasn’t enough.
When flags with Nazi symbols are being flown with trump flags.
When one police officer is helping a person down the steps of the building they are suppose to protect and another officer is killed.
Where do we go?

The long term may be better but the short term is dicey to say the least. As to your image - V.

What an amazing composition!
This is fascinating and has to be considered art.

I’m hoping 1/20/21 helps, but I’m afraid of violence. Excellent shapes to represent our puzzling times. V

When push comes to shove...

a great image divided into two parts by a diagonal, one part is clear, and the other blurry.
it reflects the state of the US at this time, divided.
Hank Vander Velde09-Jan-2021 02:39
Beats me Jane. Just a SAD day/time for the USA and all its friends.
Carl Carbone08-Jan-2021 22:59
Great image to go with current events. We will heal.
Nirvan Hope08-Jan-2021 22:49
An excellent image to convey the necessity of deep reflection on the complex issues fracturing the country.
Nick Paoni08-Jan-2021 21:47
Fractured-certainly, but so far the peaces are still holding together and that means there is a chance for healing.
Martin Lamoon08-Jan-2021 21:25
The picture certainly makes us think about what happened and wonder what will happen next.
Frightening times

perfect picture for that unbelievable sad situation, time will tell!

Your shot is beautiful, but also illustrative of the cracks in the democratic institutions the US is (was?) so well-known for. Undoing the work of a lunatic is not going to be easy, especially when so many have swallowed his lies and conspiracies hook, line and sinker. But there is still hope with a good man and a good woman at the helm soon. V

The United States of America will recover from the past events and a new beginning is on the horizon I pray that our new President on January 20 2021 starts the healing process and not the opposite.
People are still lined up waiting to become part of this amazing USA.
A nice image for conversation Jane.

Good questions. We can start with education. Also there are another 70 million who did not vote!
Borisalex08-Jan-2021 17:29
Its´a society divided! There need to to be reforms for social stability! Biden has only two years to change something. He has the senate and house !
Kevin D Warren08-Jan-2021 16:38
No easy answers to the question(s) you pose here. The current social/political climate has been a long time in the making and reveals a house deeply divided. Perhaps we are experiencing a harsh wake up call to pursue the extensive reform that is required. I'm not smart enough to know what that entails, but I have hope that good people will still do the right thing.

A superb and symbolic image of the rough times. V.

Great capture with beautiful reflections. Indeed a major and complex problem not easy to solve. !V
globalgadabout08-Jan-2021 16:08
a graphic puzzle so perfectly articulated...yes a complex problem for your country to re-calibrate after four years of vileness and lunacy at the top...the increasing boldness of the extreme right is alarming, and that's an area of deep concern..
Tom Beech08-Jan-2021 16:01
To use a very old phrase "to hell in a hand cart" if we don't get it under conrol fast..
Helen Betts08-Jan-2021 14:58
I like your picture, but I don't think we are going anywhere good. V.
Neil Marcus08-Jan-2021 14:40
It is even worse in that it seems to be groups responsible for protection of the Capitol were backed off.
joseantonio08-Jan-2021 13:43
nice composition with the reflection.V
