pier

White Rock

the pier dates from 1914, and was a dock for steamships when the Great Northern Railway began operations....the train tracks are seen here, and are still in use

the wooden structure, restored in 1977, needed repairs after a 2018 storm tore away a middle section...the pier extends 470m into Semiahmoo Bay, named for local First Nations people

The subdued lighting adds to the mood. The view must be great from out on the pier.
