19th - And Quietly Flows The Avon

near Marlcliff, Warks. view map

The Avon isn't quite the mighty river Don of Sholokhov's novel but it's a peaceful and quiet riverside scene nonetheless

Out for a walk with my daughter this afternoon round Bidford-on-Avon, and it was a mudbath...think we slithered and slid for all of the four miles of the walk

Four miles of slippery mud equals eight miles of normal walking. Lovely photo.

seems it has a good flow though...a wonderful scene so astutely depicted..

Sounds like you had a great walk

Did you walk the muddy tow path, or out through the fields? One good thing about slip-sliding is you exercised some different muscles and more core. :)

Too much rain? The river does look like it might have overflowed the banks a bit. But what a great scene this is, very nicely captured. V
