Bare Bones is a small ranch that was next to ours. Just past this strange 'yard art' lies the gate to the off-road trail that goes through the Christmas Mountains.
Only 2 vehicles per day are permitted to drive the mountain paths. The views are spectacular and I highly suggest you watch this video. In the very beginning
you will see the skeleton with the flame-thrower. Enjoy the gorgeous views from above - about 1 minute 40 seconds into the video and again at the top
of the mountain at 4 minutes into the video!
The view from the top is indeed inspiring... but are you absolutely SURE that there isn't an option to take a Blackhawk helo up there instead of driving those roads?
a sight to make one sit up and take notice...the video reveals an unsuspected side to the Texan outback...that bone-rattling drive must have been exhilarating..
