We have the oddest looking tree in the tree box in front of our house. I’ve never known what kind of tree it is, only that it continues to grow up but not out. Anyway, it’s displaying the first real fall color I’ve seen on Capitol Hill this year. I tried to photograph it the other day when it was fresher but wasn’t happy with the results; however, when the late afternoon sun hit it yesterday, I just had to try again (with a different lens).

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.
