I bet I had driven by this grillwork at least 20 times and never noticed it. That's because from the street side there is a dark brown brick wall and the cutouts didn't show up at all.
Yesterday I was working on a project and this was assigned. So I had to figure something out. The answer was to get behind the work, between it and the wall, and shoot looking out rather than outside in. The problem was there's not much room, about 4 to 5 feet I would guess. So the only solution I could think of at the time was to shoot a panorama.
I'm glad it worked out as well as it did.
