Thursday US COVID News

“Trump puts pressure on FDA for coronavirus silver bullet ahead of Election Day. Administration officials said the President appeared intent on being able to deliver at least the solid promise of an vaccine by the time he faces reelection.

‘It really might even be delivered before the end of October,’ Trump said about a vaccine at a Pennsylvania rally Thursday night. ‘How do you like that? Wouldn't that be nice?’

On calendars peppered with early voting deadlines and presidential debates, some of Trump's advisers have circled October 22, when a once obscure panel of academics and researchers convened by the FDA will weigh ‘the development, authorization and/or licensure’ of a coronavirus vaccine.” CNN

Concern by many scientists and health officials is that an unproved vaccine, being released too soon, could be harmful to the American public. Fauci is among them. Meanwhile, Trump is willing to use any means possible to boost his chances of reelection; including putting a virus weary public in harm’s way.

He again today also insisted that America’s death toll is only 9,000 Americans; not 189,000. “In the past week, President Donald Trump has repeatedly spread a false claim that COVID-19 is not as deadly as his own public health agencies have reported.” Politifact.

Anything to make his mishandling of the pandemic look better. Trump’s comments are a horrible insult to all those American families who have lost loved ones to COVID.

Most of today’s photos were of deer and geese. However, the above, little girl added some variety to the day. She’s one of the babies born this Summer & now totally independent of her mom. Some of her litter mates were lost to the hawk.
