We're still at the Place des Pyramides, waiting for the guided tour of the Louvre to start. Alongside is the Hotel Regina, opened in 1900. (The building was constructed during the second Empire, about 50 years earlier.) It was named "Regina" in honour of Queen Victoria.
Oh yes indeed I wouldn't mind staying here, right in the heart of Paree. Except for... well, there's the small issue of cost. There are 99 rooms. The cheapest, and I use that word almost comically, costs €464 (about $AU800) per night. However the Parisian Suite, with 117 square metres, a balcony, a view of the Eiffel Tower and enough space for 7 people (which really does sound a lot more like me)? Well, that would be $AU4,387 non-refundable or $5,159 with free cancellation. Per night. Mmm.
I'll get back to you when I come up with some better money making ideas. MUCH better money making ideas.
