We planted this rowan tree not long after we moved into this house 25 years ago.
It was a sapling then, barely more than a twig.
Now it regales us every late summer with bright yellow berries.
We have another rowan in the garden, which grows red berries and which sheds its leaves earlier.
I don't know why this is so.
We also have two mature ash trees.
Boy, do they grow fast and tall.
One day our neighbours might complain, but I will just say they are our CO2 contribution.
I like trees more than I like people, when all's said and done.
