This species lives only on Black Locust trees. Their sharply pointed pronotum looks like a locust thorn.

Ah, treehoppers; so distinctive. The infestation (doubtless of a different species) was so bad on one tree in my garden, constantly so over several years, that the tree looked sickly all the time and I ended up having it cut down.
