BARNACLES
Strange and wonderful creatures,
who cement their foreheads
to rocks, ships, pilings, turtles, whales.
Preferring shallow, tidal waters,
feathery legs wave above crusty shells
to capture any passing plankton
or tasty morsel floating by.
Though shells cling to just one place,
other parts are surprisingly mobile.
To witness such antics, check YouTube.
