NGC 1955

NGC 1955 is the star cluster in the middle of the
large "bowl" in this image. Other star clusters
decorate this area. These energetic stars cause
the hydrogen (red) and oxygen (blue) in this region
to glow. This area is part of the Large Magellanic
Cloud, one of the satellite galaxies of the our own
Milky Way Galaxy.
