That's the pits. Internet pooped out Friday night. I called Xfinity and they ran some tests and decided our modem was defunct, so I was directed to the Xfinity store which is just a few miles from the house. They gave me a brand new modern/router and I hooked it up and it didn't work. They scheduled a service call for this morning. We did not despair because of the handy personal hot spot on our phones which keeps us connected. Ain't technology wonderful??
Well, the Cross Family computing center and armory is now back up and running. Our real problem was a bad feed line, but in the process we got a new modem/router which is a big step forward. It allowed me to get rid of some now extraneous cables and resulted in a much cleaner installation. The black box on the right is our 16TB network attached storage device (Western Digital MyCloud EX2 Ultra) which works very well. Now after testing everything on our network I can say the conversion was pretty well executed. Customer support from Xfinity was top drawer.
