Day 13 September 5

This was our last big day in Nashville. In the morning we did a walking tour of the downtown area which was very good. The guide stuck to stopping in shady areas which was welcome. We learned a lot of history. Our guide was a native which makes things seem more authentic.

After lunch with the group Ginny and I went to the state capitol for a revisit. We were there in May of 2013. Our tour was short but informative. Every time we do a repeat of something we have visited there is always lots of new stuff.

The group got back together at Robert's Honkey Tonk on Broadway. There was an entertaining band. The highlight of the visit was ordering the "Depression Special." For six bucks you got a fried baloney sandwich, bag of chips, Moon Pie and a PBR (Pabst Blue Ribbon). What a deal! So we had some good food and some OK beer and enjoyed the entertainment.

We ended up the night at the Ryman Auditorium for a Country Classics performance which was truly stupendous. We had 7th row seats. Larry Gatlin was the host and the featured performer was Connie Smith. We had a great time. After that we all wandered up to the parking lot and said our good byes to Ken and Debby. The rest of us headed back to the hotel.

Today's photo is of Ginny savoring her Moon Pie at Robert's.
