Day 5 August 28
It was an easy day today. We headed out from Memphis to Florence, Alabama, which took about two hours. In Florence we visited yet another Frank Lloyd Wright Usonian home. This was built for Stanley and Mildred Rosenbaum in 1940. It was expanded in 1948 because the Rosembaums then had four sons. It is one of the larger Usonian homes we have toured. The city of Florence purchased the home and spent $750,000 restoring it. It is well done. The tour guide gave a good narrative. It was well worth the trip.
After that it was back on the road for an hour to Huntsville for the night. It turned out that there was a good BBQ joint right across the street. Some take out dinner and life is good.
