Day 7
We traveled down to Cape Hatteras today. It is only 60 miles from where we are staying in Kill Devil Hills. I would say that this was also a bucket list item. Since I was a youngster I remember seeing photos of and hearing about the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. It has an interesting history which includes a move of about a half mile to its current location. The sea was encroaching on the original location. After that we visited the Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum which was small but interesting. Then it was off to Bodie Island Lighthouse. Ginny climbed both lighthouses. I chose not to. My assignment was to take photos of Ginny when she got to the top. Today's photo is of Ginny atop the Hatteras Lighthouse. I believe she is dancing to her favorite Village People song.

When I climb these things I find
myself clinging to objects as
far from the edge as possible.
Not worth the effort.

As I recall, your assignment at the Astoria Column
was to stay on the ground for photos while I
ascended. I guess you are well-grounded (except
when flying).
