Mt Coonowrin

An Aboriginal name. Coonowrin was the ill-behaved son of Tibrogargan and Beerwah.
Set to watch out for the baby, he didn't pay attention and the baby was washed out to sea - but rescued no thanks to Coonowrin.

See next photo for a different perspective on the mountain.

Reminds me of Devil's Tower, in the western part of my country, that was seen in the movie Close Encounters of the Third Kind!

Love how stories unfold around features of the landscape.

Both image are wonderful - and the background info (with comments) super! Must have been a lot of rain - dense forest below and erosion above.

What an unusual mountain, well captured from this POV. Interesting narrative as well.

Almost like Devil's Tower. Very cool formation and excellent capture.
