Some days I do exciting things, like when we are on road trips. Some days I do boring things. Today was one of the latter. The only interesting thing was that I decided to cook something. One thing I make that Ginny really likes is beer batter bread. So that was a small project today. I like this stuff because there are only five components: flour, beer, salt, sugar and baking powder. These are items that we always have on hand so it can be just a spur of the moment decision to make the stuff. I cook it in a greased glass loaf pan and cover the top with butter. The result is a loaf that is crispy on all sides.
Ginny came back from a doctor visit while the bread was in the oven and could smell the aroma of the bread. When it was done I pulled it out of the oven and put it on a rack for a few minutes. We sliced some pieces and put butter on them. Hot bread and butter is hard to beat any time of day.
