In order to get from Tuscaloosa to Alpharetta by 11:00 am you have to get going pretty early. We drove out of the parking lot before 6:00 am. That means we were up at 4:00 am. It was a departure in darkness which is not desirable, but thems the breaks. We rolled through Birmingham at dawn and stopped for gas in Lincoln, AL.

Our GPS system has very good traffic. As we drove the distance to the 285 loop in Atlanta we saw the delay grow to over 30 minutes on the route and then is faded to 5 minutes as we got to 285. I would guess we watched rush hour come and go during the drive.

We arrived at Peyton's school in plenty of time and bought our meal tickets. It was a surprise for him, and he ran over for hugs as we went to the lunch room. The school has very good food for kids and adults. We had a great time with him and his friends. Of course we needed some photos. All his friends wanted to participate so we got a great shot of the photobomb. A good time was had by all.
