Franciscan Monastery Complex in Drohiczyn embraces a church, a bell tower and a monastery.
Franciscan monks came to Drohiczyn before 1400. The first temple with the monastery has beed founded in 1409. The present Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary was built in 1682-1774.
During the Soviet occupation the temple was used as a rubbish dump.
The church is connected with the Franciscan Monastery built between 1737 and 1751, and next to it there is also a free-standing bell-tower, built in 1770 in the late Baroque style.
