1969 Ford Mustang Mach-1 428 Cobra Jet

Hickory Corners, Michigan

When the current owners met back in 1982, Brian was driving a 1970 Mach 1 Mustang
that he built in his high school auto body class. It wasn't until about 25-years
later that Shelley and Brian decided it was time to get another Mustang. After
searching the internet and many classified ads, they located this numbers-matching
car tucked away in a garage less than 2-miles from their home.

The Acapulco Blue beauty was equipped with a 428 Cobra Jet engine, C-6 automatic
transmission, 3.00 Traction-Lok differential, power steering, factory air conditioning,
AM-FM Stereo Radio, and smog unit. All of this was paired with the 2-door sports roof
styling, black-out hood treatment, chin spoiler, chrome hood pins, rear deck spoiler,
high back bucket seats, and a fold-down rear seat. The car required an extensive restoration
and after nearly 8 years, the Mustang was complete and made its debut at a Wednesday Night
Cruise-In here at the Gilmore Car Museum back in 2017. Owners Brian and Shelley would like
to extend their thanks to Tom Cole of Tom Cole's Body Shop, Mike Doubleday, and many others
along the way. Without the expertise of those who spent so much time on the restoration this
car would not be what it is today.
