Columbia River Gorge, Oregon

on this third visit to the area finally checked out a classic scene...this is looking east along the river, from Chanticleer Point, with Crown Point and Vista House prominent in the view

thought to return later and catch richer light in late afternoon, but was foiled by encroaching gloomy weather...luckily the subsequent Central Oregon road trip was under sunnier skies

I remember this fabulous view. Nice capture. Is that some scaring from last years arson fires, on the back ridge?

Fabulous view for your image. Often the view of the vantage point is better than the vantage point itself. "V"

Perfect perspective for this sweeping view of the gorge. I've been there, but it's not quite as dramatic lower down.
