No don't tell me that Jim................ Duct tape would have been better. See that green grounding wire, that's a hole in the upper 1/2 of the deck box that it goes into. Yep they drilled a couple of holes in it and wired it shut. My guess is they lost the screws to the rocks below and then said "no worry, I got this". I'm not saying that I'm 100% by code 100% of the time but this is way off the reservation and I'd never in my wildest dreams try something this awful. This is what nightmares are made of. I need to submit this to one of the electrical contractor magazines. Paul
This is beyond just bad work, these guys have no clue at all. The main feature in this photo is the underwater pool light deck box. That box contains the wiring that goes directly to a forming shel in the pool that holds a wet niche pool light and by code it is required to be 8 inches above the water level and 4 inches above the deck because water is always present in the shell and conduit. I see so many code violations here it makes me question what I can’t see. Maybe I need to be a electrical inspector in Camden county Mo. Paul
