In this picture I was surprised to see three young hawks. The nest is hard to see among dense vegetation in the top of a tall cedar elm tree. The birds appear closer to 4 weeks old here, and are now tearing their own food and flapping their wings. I never approached closer than 50 feet from the tree as the adults were becoming agitated. To climb the tree at this point would endanger the nestlings as they would possibly jump upon approach.
