I have observed Broad Winged Hawks nesting in a city park in Austin Texas since about 1998. Each spring they return to raise their babies in the tops of tall cedar elm and oak trees. Nesting Broad Winged hawks have historically rare or unnoticed in central Texas. In the recent few years they have increased their numbers to the point that I see a few a week in various wooded locations.
