We spotted this beautiful Black-headed Trogon as we were coming out of our room one morning during our visit to Cano Negro Wildlife Refuge in Costa Rica earlier this month. I was certainly not expecting to see this bird right outside my door so the result was some panicked setting up of equipment to get a shot before the bird disappeared. Thankfully this one was quite comfortable where it was.
