Established on 1703 by Peter the Great on a small island on the Neva River delta to protect his new capital, the Peter and Paul Fortress is now part of the State Museum of Saint Petersburg History. At its center is the Peter and Paul Cathedral where Russian Czars are buried.
In the foreground is the Troitskiy Bridge.
