It arrived this afternoon. Hot off the truck from China. Things are a lot different these days with computers. What you see in the photo is the entire contents of the box which weighed 6 1/2 pounds. One computer, one power supply and cords and one sheet of paper with setup instructions. The instructions are (1) plug it in and (2) turn it on. A nice female voice comes on and leads you through all the setup. It is simple as that. Any idiot, including yours truly, can be in business and online quickly. Larry and Dave remarked about how things have changed yesterday. How true.

I am sure we all remember those early monstrous desktop PCs. They were heavy and they came in a very big box. They came with instruction manuals and the early DOS operating systems came in 3 ring binders. Now you get nothing because you don't need all that stuff. Windows 10 works well for me. Once you get familiar with the interface and where to find things it is not bad.

So now I launched into getting things just right. First off the block was to find and eliminate Crapware. There is a lot of it. Games and utilities and software offers. McAfee got tossed as well as MS Office. I use Open Office which is free. Also use Windows defender which is free and designed for Windows by Microsoft.

The hours ahead will consist of downloading and installing software. Lots of it. my goal is to have everything tidied up by the end of the day tomorrow. Stay tuned.

Congratulations. I'd forgotten about all
the bloatware that I kicked off my laptop when I first got it.
Should be a great machine for you.
