Ever since we moved back into the house after the remodeling, I have been on a tear to use up as much of our excess food supply as possible. One thing we had way too much of was flour. Today was the last big step to getting that one under control. I emptied the flour storage container and dumped the last whole bag of flour into it. No bags of flour stuffed into the refrigerator. You might wonder what I have using the flour for. I have been making soda bread which is very simple to make. Today I made another loaf of it and included some raisins this time. Ginny loves raisin bread. She also likes it prepared by slicing it up and pan frying it with butter. That makes a nice crispy surface that is delicious. I like it that way as well. Today's photo was taken of the loaf in the oven. I am learning how to use the convection part of it. As yet I don't see much difference between it and a regular oven. Our oven can run in both modes. Need to come up with an experiment to check it out.
