Red Winged Blackbird
by Dale R. Palmer

I shot manual using ISO 400 to help stop the motion with a fast shutter speed while holding noise low. The amount of zoom used helps me determines my F-stop as I like good bokeh in the background and like the lens as open as it will go. Even with the zoom at 250 that is 400 equivalent, there was no problem keeping the shutter speed high enough to hold camera shake and wind induced motion to a minimum at 1/2500. I cropped a little keeping the general idea of the image and the various branches that frame the bird.

Canon EOS 80D ,Sigma 18-250mm macro zoom
1/2500s f/6.3 at 250.0mm iso400 full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

Nicely exposed, Dale, to still keep some of the detail in the blackbird while keeping nice blues and greens at the same time. The colors and composition make this a very pleasing shot.
