It was difficult to determine by looking at the shot in the camera, but I think I really needed to overexpose this shot to get better detail on the statue.

I also like that you were adventurous enough to shoot this in manual mode. The next time, try different combinations of settings just to see how they work. In a way, I would have liked to see a bit more detail in the larger subject OR else his a bit darker like a silhouette to bring out the gold people even more. Some of that can be done with camera settings. The rest would depend on your lighting.

I like the contrast of the little gold people. They definitely attract the eye.

I agree with Dale - although lighter overall could also have worked, I like the contrast of the dark man and the very bright little gold people. I think I would likely also clone out the bits of gold spikes protruding from the right, but I know you don't really do much editing. :)

On the other hand, this exposure puts the attention on the gold subjects.
