Celithemis fasciata Banded Pennant
by Dale R. Palmer

Dragonfly

I believe this is a "Celithemis fasciata Banded Pennant" dragonfly.

My Canon 300 F4 L lens with a 1.4TC and 1.6 crop factor = 672mm equivalent focal length lens. The rule of thumb for hand held photography is that the shutter speed should be 1/672s or faster. I went for ISO 100 for minimal noise. I put the lens at F5.6 (wide open) to get the best bokeh. The light meter said to use 1/500s and that would work with the lens' Image Stabilization of 2 stops to keep the image stable.

Canon EOS Rebel T5i ,Canon 300, 1.4TC, 1.6CF = 672 equiv
1/500s f/5.6 ISO 100... and 672mm equivalent focal length lens. full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

Great catch of the beautiful dragonfly, Dale. Very nice sharpness, and good exposure.
