I liked this particular pose... "just checking to see if I have on my black shoes".
I used a 1.4TC with my Canon 300mm lens for a 672mm equivalent focal length considering the 1.6 crop factor of the camera. Shooting with a lens that is equivalent to 672mm, I wanted a shutter speed equal to or above 1/672 second... as per the rule of thumb for hand held stable photos. I've also learned that an ISO of 400 like the old ASA 400 film that I favored back in the 1960's and since works really well outdoors to keep shutter speeds high and noise low so I selected ISO of 400.
I wanted the best bokeh I could get so I kept the lens wide open at F5.6. With an ISO of 400, I then selected via the dial a shutter speed of 1/1250 to get a sharp image in the wind.
