Knocknarea (327 metres high) along with Ben Bulben dominates the skyline of Sligo and is well known for its huge flat topped cairn which is believed to be the resting place of the legendary Queen Maeve. In the freezing December of 2009, I was lucky enough to capture the mountain emerging from a dense fog in the evening.
