Siena, Toscana
Though this is of course the same courtyard as before, from a different angle. On this occasion the movement definitely would have been too great between the first and last frames of the bracket so I plucked out the -3 and +3 EV frames which seemed to capture the highlights and shadows well enough. (Actually, looking at it at 100% there IS a bit of ghostiness in the people sitting along the wall, but it vanishes on reduction to screen display size.)
Not to mention the painting of the ceiling. In a world of sensory overload and computer generated imagery many of us barely notice such things these days, but this was all by hand. The work that must have gone into it doesn't bear thinking about.
Or actually, it does.
I note the presence of a sign and bust off on the right. I must have been off my game that day because normally I take a shot of such things for reference so that I can broaden my comments about the place. On this occasion I see no such shot. I've found a few other shots of this courtyard but they've all been on stock photo sites. Stock photographers are generally unconcerned about context, as long as something looks the part.
