Project Day 58 - Exile Day 8 - This was just about the end of the stuff moving and demolition. Ginny got everything out of the second floor and the boys came in to remove the carpet. There are no more big stuff moving or demolition tasks. Ginny has been very effective during this process. Now that it is over, she plans to start sorting through stuff and either trashing or donating a lot of stuff. At first she tried to do that as we went along, but that was way too slow to meet ine construction deadlines. Now she can work on sorting out while supervising the construction. She has set up a work station in a corner of the master bedroom that will serve as her command center.

As for me, I started working on the family photo scanning project again. I am getting started slowly because I want to make sure my indexing scheme is right. The big issue is applying dates, as always. Some I have and some I don't. Maybe I am being to compulsive about it. At one time I was thinking about assigning a date of 1/1/1900 to the ones I don't know. That would make them easy to find if I got some information. Maybe just a SWAG is the best way to go. I gotta get that figured out soon so I can get real production going.

As far as today's picture is concerned, this is the pile of carpet and carpet pad that was removed from the second floor. Two rooms were already removed during the water damage remediation. This carpet has been in the house since it was built, 40 years ago. It was definitely well used. The carpet pad was the cheapie foam rubber composite. It had crumbled to some extent. I have always wondered why green was chosen as the color. It never really bothered me while it was installed. Just one of those things to think about.
