If I had a son, or one of my daughters asked me what to do with their life I'd encourage them to learn a trade. A hands on skill with demand and need. I get it, enriching your brain in academia is satisfying and fulfilling on a personal and cultural level. Yeah, sure. Go to college and be a snowflake and hope to come out and make 40K a year paying off debt while working at Starbucks with a BA in sociology? F that..... I say, learn a trade. Watching the electrician working in my home today I quickly noticed his confidence and knowledge in how he has the market cornered and can pretty much demand what he wants, when he wants. He has skills and he too went the "MBA" route (Money Before Academics). It's an unpopular path but plumbers, electricians and heat/air folks will always be employable. People need to shit, stay warm and make toast for breakfast. Laugh at me- but there is pure truth to my rant today. Go ahead and rest on your fancy diploma as it ain't gonna keep you warm, unless you burn it.



I'm not disparaging higher education but rather wishing todays schools and counselors would not look down their noses at a persons choice to forgo traditional education. My electrician is a bad ass and walks with a lean due to the fat wallet in his pocket.


Kids, learn a skill then master it and get paid!
