OK, I've just walked down the hill from the last shot to the Stroudwater canal (that'll be yerr in Stroud then, moi luvverrrr!).

Thus light is even lower, massively contrasty shadows, sun behind me blatting against the white limestone tones of the mortar and that little outhouse ...so I'd EXPECT those darks to block up if trying to retain highlights without blowout, especially with red filter simulation on monochrome....
