Icicle steps

Padden Creek, Fairhaven, WA

On a snowy day I meandered out with my camera to find this icicle stairway forming.
Fascinated by icicles, I returned several times that day, the last time lamenting they had all melted away.
Such is the short life of an icicle around here.

I like the shapes and the texture of the frozen stairs as the water freezes in layers and at different times. Well found and a very neat winter scene not often seen. V
