Three days in August – Day One: Diplomacy

"The last day of the International Seminars was seldom eventful; its high point
was generally the afternoon excursion to enjoy the beach on Cape San Vito. However,
this year would hold a surprise due to President Gorbachev’s announcement of his
radical policy of glasnost. Professor Rehnfeld had expected to meet the usual array
of scientists well connected to their respective governments policy apparatus. Out of habit
he assumed that the Russian team would be led by Gorbachev’s science advisor and
the American team by the “godfather” of its Star Wars program. But Rehnfeld would be mistaken.

I love the wonderful tall composition that gives such prominence to the stone step path through the old town and the great contrasts in lighting on both sides. I also love the processing that gives this a very appealing retro etched look. ~BV~
