One could not have described the tiny trattoria in the village center
as rustic. Rather, plebian would have been a more appropriate description.
He was not surprised that the clientele matched the undistinguished décor.
As he entered, two tall chalkboards on his left wished those who entered
a pleasant stay and a good meal in two-dozen languages and undecipherable scripts.
It was difficult to imagine that those who entered would be able to decipher
more that just a few.
