Many of their farms that we passed had very simple, handmade signs (like the one to the right of the Auction sign) that announced what type products they sold to give them income. We saw many of these plain white signs along our tour. Their community will gather to hold a "barn-raising" whenever a barn or houses is needed, because they don't believe in loans and so will save up to buy the farm land and building materials. The labor is free and the women make/bring all the potluck food for all the families to eat during that day.
