There were oodles of cops everywhere.
Though as it turned out they were doing much more than keeping the area secure and under control -
they were very friendly and more than willing to take pictures for anyone who asked.
There was almost always someone in sight handing their phone or camera over to a policeman and asking them to
take a picture of them with the crowds packed along Michigan Avenue behind them as far as the eye could see.
Kinda gave me warm fuzzies. 8-o
(Heh. Fuzz. I totally didn't think about that when I first wrote it.)
I'm just going to add here, for the sake of my cynical side, that I'm assuming the cops
doing this weren't the same ones who years ago crashed into my dad's car one night, nor were they the additional ones
who showed up at the scene and gave him a ticket for it.
