Cubs World Series Parade

I went to Chicago on Friday to watch the parade celebrating the Cubs winning the World Series. (Nope, still not used to saying that.) It was a beautiful day, in the mid-50's or so.

If you have a cyanophobia (fear of or aversion to the color blue), it was definitely not the place to be.

The parade started at Wrigley Field, then proceeded to north Michigan Ave heading south, culminating in the rally in Grant Park.

I arrived about an hour-and-a-half ahead of time (ended up being over two hours - some Cubs players couldn't get to Wrigley on time due to the traffic, LOL), right near the old Historic Water Tower on Michigan Ave & Chicago Ave, and got the exact spot I wanted - about five minutes before everything started filling up around me. This allowed me a fairly straight view north up Michigan Avenue, with the old Water Tower as a backdrop.

It was a PERFECT spot. (That is, until minutes before the parade started and a line of CERT (basically citizens trained to support in emergency situations) people lined up right in front of me across the road...)
Ah, well. C'est ma vie.

Anyway. There are comments strewn here and there in the descriptions of some pictures, if you care to look so far. Cheers. :-)
