I guess I’m back to Saudi pictures since I have pretty much run out of images from Washington, that is until I manage to get out of here with a camera. Because I have to work on Saturdays, I end up missing a lot of things going on around town, unfortunately.
This is Tim and some of his colleagues attending a graduation ceremony for officers at King Fahd Security College. Although I didn’t attend, he managed to get some pictures as well as videos with his cell phone, some of which I’ll include. As you can see, there are no Saudi women working for this joint Saudi-US project, and American women aren’t required (in fact are advised not to) to wear an abaya and headscarf while performing their professional duties.
This is the closer view of the picture below, minus the Saudi photographer. Tim is just to the right of center, with the embassy’s deputy chief of mission to his left. The next man to the left is Tim's co-director of this joint project management organization. To his left is Tim’s deputy and a Saudi who I quite liked and photographed in several years at the Janadriyah Culture Festival. There are memories of a lot of nice people in this photograph.
