New Zealand Fantail

Ulva Island, New Zealand-1629

The Fantail is a very popular endemic bird of New Zealand, interesting more than half the length of the bird is the tail, as the name would imply. One if his amazing display is he will often Fanned out the Fantail to help him catch insects in the air, the timing was wrong for this to happen during my trip as it was raining. The locals name for the Fantail is Piwakawaka.
