Abandoned Church in a ghost town created by the Tocks Island Project

From an article in the NY Times; "Like a monument to some bitter war, this 18th-century ghost town commemorates a victory over big government, a celebrated and unexpected triumph for conservationists and history buffs who succeeded in blocking the dam. But it also symbolizes the legacy of Tocks Island: families have been uprooted, history has been disrupted, and what little escaped the bulldozers is now threatened by benign neglect."

It's a nice little church but an unfortunate victim of the project. Like the the image very much. V

Great picture Nora, and a sad fate for the building. Perhaps DT could pay a few dollars tax to help maintain it.

Great shot with this lgihting, processing and off-center placement. The church has so much "character". Intresting article too. What a tragedy! "V"
