A Spaniard's Dream

Paronella Park, FNQ

Quoting from a leaflet given out to those doing the tour, it reads as follows.

"Why do I do it, people ask, it is because I wish to do something.
I make my money in sugar industry and in selling my farms. I have
travelled the world twice and never have I seen
anything as beautiful as places you have in Queensland.
People smile and say Paronella, he is mad - stupid - to
work so hard and to spend so much money this way!
Why does he not sit down and rest? That is not my way.."

Nice point of view and an excellent capture of this abandoned park in a tropical rainforest. The bromeliads even grow on the stonework. A most interesting photo, Yvonne. Vote.

A fading dream - rather sad to see it sinking into an abyss - must have been wonderful ! V

Fascinating indeed, yet, I'd be scared walking there! I know that in 'Stralia, anything that moves and hides is there to kill you, spider, snakes, bugs, croco ... and that sure seems to be THE PLACE for them all! Great shot though
